Sewanti News Diwali 2014

Spring 2014

Spring is a beautiful time of year.

It is a time of renewal, new energy and vitality.

We are very excited to share the news of our brand new corporate office of Padmashri Naturals Inc. and the Showroom of our products. It is located at Unit 122-618 East Kent Ave South, in Vancouver BC.

Holi Festival

With the arrival of spring come pretty colors in nature - a break from the winter’s chill and snow.
Inspired by nature there are celebrations promoting fun and color in life.
One such celebration that we all saw last week was the Holi festival.
This spring tradition is celebrated in India by smearing of colors and colored water on each other. Ayurvedic herbs are also used as colors like Neem for green , Turmeric for yellow, Indigo for blue and so on. There is music and dance to the beat of drums and delicious food to share with friends. The festival has spawned satellite events all over the world including one in Surrey BC!

According to Ayurveda,

Spring is the most important season to detoxify the body.

Toxins can interrupt its biochemical balance, creating a fertile ground for allergies, flu, and other infections, or disturb the normal functioning of the liver and kidneys.
Herbal support may be used to strengthen appetite and digestion and rejuvenate liver to optimize the body’s metabolic processes. One herbal formula that Vaidyas recommend is Triphala Plus. The addition of Bhumi Amalakiand Yastimadhu assists in tonify function of liver and gall bladder. Triphala Plus cleanses and tones digestive tract, promotes regular elimination and helps assimilation of nutrients.

Spring, the Kapha Season

One of the most common conditions experienced in spring is the excess production of phlegm and mucous. As the sun melts away the winter snow, the earth becomes full of moisture and the same happens in our body as accumulated congestion turns to fluid.
Daily massage with Padmashri Invigorating Kapha oilenergizes and stimulates the body promotes mild sweating, improves circulation and detoxifies the body. Kapha oil is prepared with kapha-reducing herbs like Bishop’s weed, Arjuna, Cardamom and Camphor.

Digestive Tea Recipe:

to cleanse toxins and balance hormones

1. Boil 1 litre of water with a teaspoon each of cumin, coriander and fennels seeds.
2. Simmer until seeds sink to bottom.
3. Strain and keep it warm in the thermos flask.
4. Drink throughout day.
5. Make a fresh batch every morning.
