Successful Ayurveda Conference

Basking in the satiety of a very successful AAPNA conference I take a moment to thank Dr. Shekhar and AAPNA for this great opportunity to organize the very first Ayurvedic conference in Canada.

3 noted celebrated guests of honor, 17 great presenters, 13 sponsors and exhibitors with diversified products and a room packed with eager learners made this conference a memorable event! We enjoyed two days of intensive learning of ancient wisdom , great food and laughter, in the natural setting of Asian centre!
Mr. Scott Sawler Director General NHPD emphasized the need of regulation of traditional medicine and the bringing support of Health Canada to enable innovation through reduction of unnecessary regulatory burden for multi-ingredient products that add value to the health of Canadians.
Dr. Dave Scotten from Boucher Institute of Natural Medicine on the importance of natural medicine and bringing the knowledge of Ayurveda into natural medicine course curriculum.
Dr. Arun Garg MD, FRCPC Program Medical Director at Fraser Health spoke about empowering in dividuals/families/communities to Lifestyle changes and social behaviours and reducing the gap between yoga and knowledge of ayurveda in prevalence of chronic diseases.
The highlight of the conference was noted Ayurvedic scholar from India, Dr. J N Mishra, who presented on the evaluation of Ayurvedic options for Obesity management and its comparative significance.

"Just to share with you that I really enjoyed the AAPNA conference last weekend. It was very well put together and gave a platform for integration with Allopathic school of thought. I thought the choice of speakers were excellent and there was a lot of very useful information, and also the team from Gaia Garden Herbals got a good opportunity for networking."
Dr. Juliana Ahamed MD, CHT, Clinical Herbal Therapist
